Say Goodbye to The T, Hello to Trinity Metro

Fort Worth Transportation Authority (FWTA) recently launched their new name for bus services back in February, but more plans are in store for FWTA. Along with the exciting rebrand, development is underway to deliver additional transit services, such as a new rail line, TEXRail. TEXRail will travel across the city of Fort Worth and to surrounding cities, including transportation to the DFW airport. TEXRail construction will be completed before the end of 2018. Waco Transit System wins APTA AdWheel Awards for Best Electronic Media

APTA’s AdWheel Awards recognize the marketing and communications efforts of association members and showcase the strategic value of communications and marketing in the industry. 

Public transportation systems and businesses compete within their peer group, based on number of annual passenger trips or in the separate business member group. The awards are further organized into two categories: Best Efforts to Increase Ridership/Sales and Best Educational Effort. Each of those two categories has seven subcategories.

Connecthings launches pilot program bringing capital metro bus information to people who are blind or visually impaired in Austin

Connecthings, an urban tech company, today launched a pilot program to deliver real time Capital Metro bus schedule and service alert information to riders who are blind or visually impaired. The program, which will run for the next sixty days at sixteen Capital Metro bus stops across downtown Austin, was developed in partnership with RATP Dev USA, Capital Metro’s bus service operations and management partner, BlindSquare, the world's most popular accessible GPS application for people who are blind or visually impaired, and BlueCats, manufacturers of the world's most advanced Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) beacons and intelligent internet of things (IIoT) asset tracking solutions.

RATP Dev Middle East signs Women Empowerment Principles in the UAE

RATP Dev Middle East, the regional business unit of RATP Dev – France’s leading international urban mobility company – has become a signatory to the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), as part of an initiative led by UNGC with the support of the Embassy of France and the French business community in the UAE. RATP Dev Middle East signed the CEO Statement of Support for the WEPs at a signing ceremony organised to coincide with International Women’s Day 2018 (March 8th) by the United Nation’s Global Compact (UNGC) UAE Network in Dubai, where the company has its MENA regional headquarters.
